Target Audience
My Target Audience for ‘Black Panther - The Video Game’ is targeted for both genders aged between 12-20 years old. The reason for this is because the age rating for the film is 12, therefore it only makes sense to make the game’s age rating the same as in the film there are fight scenes, which there are also going to be in the game. The game is also going to be primarily aimed towards PS4 users. There is no specific gender for the age due to there being both character involved in the game.
On a video gamer’s perspective of the target audience, the game is going to primarily be aimed towards Action-Adventure type gamer’s. This is due to the nature of the game, and having to explore things, whilst also having the chance to fight enemies.
Rationale
The target audience for ‘Black Panther - The Video Game’ is targeted for both genders aged between 12-20 years old. Therefore, when creating my designs, I made sure to include things that are going to give a 'kick' to people who loved the movie. This was done by adding comic-book stickers to the comic-book style of designs.
People who play video games on consoles are usually playing on the bigger platform - Playstation 4. This is the reason why I decided to go for a PS4 template for the game cover and the console skins. Playstation uses were also the main target for the same reason.
The video game is intentionally aimed for both genders. This is one of the reasons why the colour scheme doesn't really include the 'stereotypical gender colours' such as blue and pink. Using this to my advantage of having the colour scheme more or a darker tone, which is also very similar to the colour scheme in the movie. That being said, I couldn't really change the colour scheme too much as then the Target Audience side of people who went to see the movie and therefore are interested in the movie are going to think it is very different from the film, potentially turning away more people.
